On 4 March 2020, which is National Safety Day in India, the largest rally for industrial safety in India was conducted in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, where TID is located. Some 5,867 employees from over 50 organizations situated in Sri City Industrial Site took part in this mega walkathon event, which set a record as certified by the India Book of Records, with the participants walking up to 2.4 miles chanting safety slogans.

TID takes pride in steering this mega event to a grand success by sharing the common vision with the event, i.e. “safety first”. Manivannan Muthiah, TID’s General Manager of Human Resources & General Affairs, was a member of the organizing committee of this event and pitched the idea of setting the record and worked along with district deputy chief inspector of factories in Sri City Industrial Site and Sri City management by creating the goal, layout, process and preparation for this event. Six different committees, namely Safety, Budget, Layout, Logistics (arranging buses for employees and vehicles for other staff at the departure and arrival points of the walkathon), Public Relations and Emergency Rescue Team, were established to drive forward all the required preparations for the event.
