On January 18, 2021, the South China Safety Meeting was held for Toray Group companies in South China with Toray Plastics Precision (Zhongshan) Ltd. (TPPZ) in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province, as the main venue.
A total of 61 people from 15 companies attended the meeting including those who took part via videoconferencing. After the opening address by President Kazuyoshi Nakano of TPPZ, the Special Safety Award was presented to TPPZ for continued zero accident and zero injury record.
Subsequently Tomoko Chikaike, General Manager of Toray Industries, Inc.’s Environment & Safety Dept., delivered the keynote address and talked about the accident cases in 2020, analysis of the accidents that occurred in China, thorough implementation of “Anzen Koh-Doh,” and activities to eliminate similar accidents.
In the safety activity report presented after that, Toray Plastics (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. (TPSU), TPPZ, and Toray Polytech (Foshan) Co., Ltd. (TPF) presented their safety activity reports, followed by an active Q & A session and advices, which served as an excellent opportunity for further improving the activities of the companies and to spread that throughout the Group.
This was followed by a review of the companies’ safety activity reports by Kazuhiko Shuto, Toray’s Chief Representative for China, who instructed the companies to reinforce safety awareness and ensure the basics of safety, and called upon them to continue with the zero accident and zero injury record in 2021.
The safety meeting concluded with the safety pledge where everyone renewed their determination to ensure safety.
