Toray Industries (China) Co., Ltd. (TCH)
TCH held the Eighth CSMS from September 9 to 11, 2021 at Toray Fibers & Textiles Research Laboratories (China) Co., Ltd. (TFRC) in Nantong, and 20 trainees from 17 Toray Group companies in China participated in it.
The seminar targets senior managers at the Toray Group companies in China to raise the level of local core human resources, who lead the business expansion in the country. The seminar was being held for the first time in three years. This year, the training was held face-to-face in a regular manner by carefully implementing infection preventive measures given the dwindling COVID-19 infections in the country.
On the first day, primarily internal lecturers held sessions on Toray’s human resource development policy, expectations on top management, Toray Philosophy, medium-term management program and long-term corporate vision, business expansion in China, Toray’s R&D, and management of Toray Sakai Weaving & Dyeing (Nantong) Co., Ltd. (TSD) and the participants gained knowledge and way of thinking which are essential for a Toray Group executive. On the second and third days, outside lecturers gave sessions incorporating case studies and the trainees learned what a senior manager should aspire to be as well as the knowledge and ways of thinking for innovating and leading each company as part of management.
The four executives of Toray Industries, Inc., Senior Vice President Kazuhiko Shuto, Senior Director Yoshio Himeshima, Senior Director Gao Zhiwen and Director Qin Zhaoqiong, also taught in the seminar. The trainees’ motivation was high and they appeared quite focused during lectures, exercises, and team discussions. In a session in small groups taught by an outside lecturer, the participants actively expressed their opinions and strived to achieve the team tasks by working together with other team members and it contributed to development and enhancement of personal connections among the trainees.
TCH will further enhance its initiatives for human resource development to bolster Toray Group’s business expansion in China.
