Toray Industries (India) Private Limited (TID)

On 25 February 2022, TID organized an awareness program on safety and self-defense at the Zilla Parishad High School in Madanambedu Village, located in our neighbourhood. Students between the age of 5 and 15 attend this school.

The program was part of the National Safety Week in India (from March 4 to 10) and was held on the request of the factory management authority of Chittoor District in Andhra Pradesh, where the Sri City Plant of TID is located, regarding “raising safety awareness in youth through safety education for students of schools located in their vicinity by private companies.”

Addressing the students, TID Managing Director Masahiro Yamaguchi, in addition to the Toray Group-Wide Safety Slogan of “Top Priority is Safety, Pursue ‘Zero Accidents’,” explained the safety measures and precautions to be followed by children when handling electricity and using LPG cylinders and stoves. He also said that the most important thing for parents is to make sure that their children get back home safely every day, and stressed the importance of fire and road accident prevention to ensure that.

Takuji Nakanishi, senior general manager of Human Resources & General Affairs Department, Manivannan Muthiah, general manager of Human Resources & General Affairs Department in charge of Human Resources & Industrial Relations, and Ravikumar Mothukuri, manager of Health, Safety & Environment Section, also addressed the students about the safety precautions and shared their experiences in ensuring safety in all our actions. Mothukuri also gave a PowerPoint presentation of the various preventions and precautionary measures to the students. In addition, mementos were presented to all the students along with biscuit packets and fruit juices.

The school management honored us by getting the children to form the words “TORAY” and “SAFETY FIRST” on the school ground, which was captured from above using a drone camera.

Mr. Chinnababu, the headmaster of the school, thanked TID management for the safety awareness provided to their students.
