Toray Industries(H.K.) Ltd. (THK) Vietnam Representative Office

On June 30, 2022, THK Vietnam Representative Office, in cooperation with Hashi wo Kakeru[1] Fund, donated a book shelf and 50 picture books to the Hanoi Lung Hospital and also held a story time for children treated there. Hashi wo Kakeru Fund is in charge of non-profit activities of MOGU Ehon[2] Project, which is engaged in activities to popularize picture books in Vietnam.

MOGU Ehon Project translates Japanese picture books to Vietnamese and publishes them in Vietnam with the aim of familiarizing picture books to more children in the country, many of whom do not have the habit of reading. The activities have been continuing since June 2017 led by More Production Vietnam Co., Ltd., a production company based in Vietnam, and Mr. Yoshiharu Tsuboi, Professor Emeritus, Waseda University. The project is supported by the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam as well as major Japanese companies to further promote the relationship between the two countries.

Following the above event, THK Vietnam Representative Office on August 24 accompanied the staff of Hashi wo Kakeru Fund and held story time for children being treated at the Children’s Hospital in Nam Dinh. Many children between the ages of two to five gathered and enjoyed listening to stories.

We would like to continue with these activities and spread the reading habit among children in Vietnam.
