Toray Membrane USA, Inc. (TMUS)

TMUS strives to continuously impact the community by manufacturing membranes that enable clean water and water sustainability. Along with the need to protect sustainable water solutions, the coastline of California also needs protecting. Every year, tons of garbage washes ashore with the tides or is left by beachgoers enjoying the beaches of southern California.

In response to this situation, TMUS organized a voluntary beach clean-up event. On October 1, 2022, as part of the TMUS Corporate Social Responsibility and a fantastic team-building event, over 30 employees (management, production, and office staff) and their families joined in collecting garbage along Bahia Point and Ventura Cove in San Diego, California. A significant amount of waste was picked up by everyone and taken away by the city.

Once the beach was clean, TMUS employees and their families relaxed while playing in the sand and water and got to know the other team members in the company. It was a great team effort to clean up the coast, so we celebrated our team's success with a barbecue lunch cooked by some of our management and office employees. Delicious hamburgers, salads, chips, and sodas for everyone.

“As a member of the Toray Group, TMUS is proud to contribute to the betterment of society not only through the products we make but also through our time commitment to the community we operate in San Diego. The beach cleanup event was a small example of our employees’ passion to serve our community. At the same time, it allows our team and their respective families to connect in a social setting that is not usually afforded in a work environment. We all just relaxed and had a great time connecting for a social cause. I look forward to TMUS sponsoring many more events like this in the future,” said Tri Huynh, President and CEO of TMUS.
