On December 7, 2022, TAK donated 17,000 masks, worth 10million won, to Gangseo-gu Office to prevent COVID-19 infections. Gangseo-gu is a district in Seoul where the Korea Toray R&D Center, which also houses TAK’s head office, is located.

The masks donated this time will be distributed to welfare facilities for the disabled in the region and low-income families that continuously need masks in preparation for the recurrence of COVID-19 in winter.

Since 2020, when COVID-19 began to spread, TAK has been making efforts to overcome infectious diseases with the local community by donating health and hygiene products such as masks, antibacterial wipes, and hand sanitizers to Gangseo-gu.

"Recently, there has been an increase in respiratory patients suffering from COVID-19 and flu," said TAK CEO Jeon Hae-sang. "I hope wearing a mask will help people in leading a safe and healthy daily life,” he added.

TAK contributed to stabilizing the supply and demand of masks in the early stages of COVID-19 through mass supply of melt blown nonwoven fabric, a key material for masks, and is striving to improve hygiene and convenience by developing nonwoven fabrics with color and that are less likely to form lint for masks.
