Tokyo, Japan, March 22, 2023 – Toray Industries, Inc., announced today that it will rename 10 ancillary services subsidiaries as of April 1.

Toray established these wholly owned subsidiaries in the 1970s at each of its plants to provide in-house ancillary services and sell products and services that relate closely to local communities.
The company added “Toray” to each of the new names to leverage the brand’s credibility among customers and foster collaboration within the Toray Group, thereby driving business expansion.
The “Coms” in the new names derives from Combination (from cooperation and collaboration, for example), Communication, and Community. This underscores a commitment to undertaking product sales, service, ancillary services work, and other operations by cooperating and communicating with communities through collaboration within the Toray Group.
Since its establishment in 1926, the Toray Group has adhered to a principle that companies are public institutions and should earn society’s respect by contributing to it through business. Toray will keep serving society by creating advanced materials and high value-added products in keeping with its commitment to innovating ideas, technologies, and products that deliver new value.
Note that the changes are solely to company names. Ownership and capitalization are unaffected.
