On March 8, 2022, a group of Toray Group officials led by Kei Shimaji, Chief Representative for Americas, Toray Industries, Inc. and President of TAM, visited Decatur Morgan Hospital in Decatur, Alabama. The group included CMA’s Senior Vice President Jun Yamazaki, Vice President Andrew Matthews, and Mike Emerson, Senior Manager, Human Resources & General Affairs, Decatur Plant.
The Decatur Morgan Hospital is a general hospital in Decatur, where Toray Fluorofibers (America), Inc. (TFA) and CMA are located, and is an important facility for local medical care with more than 200 doctors and 1,800 healthcare workers. TAM, CMA, TFA have been maintaining a strong relationship with the hospital, with CMA being the main sponsor of the Dragon Boat and Festival, a charity event sponsored by the hospital held every May, from the very first event till now (the event marked its 10th anniversary last year).
The hospital invited Shimaji and CMA executives of Decatur Plant to introduce how the medical equipment bought with their donation are contributing to local medical service. Decatur Morgan Hospital President Kelli Powers and Decatur Morgan Hospital Foundation President Noel Lovelace expressed their gratitude to the Toray Group, and subsequently gave the Group officials a tour of the hospital, where the doctors and nurses of each department explained the medical equipment.
The healthcare workers in the frontline explained to the officials how the donations from Toray Group have been helping them in their daily medical practice, which made the visitors feel proud that their activities are contributing to the local society.
The Toray Group companies in the United States will continue to contribute to society as companies rooted in the community. |
