Tokyo, Japan, June 6, 2023 – Toray Industries, Inc., announced today that it will launch the Torayvino
™ Torayshower RS54 dechlorinating showerhead in mid-June. The new offering switches between regular, double, and straight flow modes and contains one cartridge. It will be available in Japan through mass merchandisers, home centers, appliance stores, and other retailers.
The Japan Atopic Dermatitis Patients Association has endorsed this water-purifying product for protecting the hair and skin from chlorine. A bonus for many consumers is that the showerhead’s activated carbon filter also eliminates mold odors and pesticides in response to consumer feedback.
The cartridge can be easily switched at the touch of a lever to "purified water" for washing hair and body, and to "tap water" for cleaning the bath, so the cartridge can be used without waste. The cartridge has a long life of 5 months, and the raw water is very economical because it saves 40% of water compared to our previous products.

Removes harmful residual chlorine
Residual chlorine in tap water oxidizes hair and breaks down hair proteins. This can cause split ends and other hair damage, dandruff, itching, and other problems.
When residual chlorine in tap water oxidizes the proteins in skin and reduces its ability to retain moisture, disruption to the keratinous layer as shown on the far right can irritate the skin and expose it to germs and allergens, easily aggravating sensitive skin and triggering atopic dermatitis*.
